Expect new songs and good times!

Until then – here we are at The Christmas Tree Festival December 2016… we had a lovely time at this festive event and enjoyed singing the songs we’ve practised since September. Well done everyone!

A Fantastic Evening

16 Jul

We had such a great night at Otley Parish Church, thank you to everyone who came to sing and to those who supported the event. There’ll be a fundraising for Joanna Project update soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed Good In Parts, Sally’s Army and Ilkley Moornotes performances. It was a joy to sing a song altogether at the end!

The team at the church really looked after us – and it was a night to remember!

Here’s to the next performance – but in the meantime – here’s a video of us performing Tender by Blur 🙂

Summer Sing – A Celebration Of Local Choirs

16 Jun

We are busy working towards our next performance at Otley Parish Church on 15th July

It will be a lovely evening celebrating the talents and diversity of 4 local community choirs.

Sally’s Army
Ilkley Moornotes
Good In Parts
Otley A Cappella

Please help us spread the word for this event as not only will it be a great evening out (there will be a licensed bar too!) but all proceeds raised will go to The Joanna Project, which works with vulnerable and hard to reach women who are trapped by life controlling addictions and who are often involved in street prostitution with all the exploitation and danger that involves. See http://www.joannaproject.co.uk for more details.

Tickets (£5.50) are available from Otley Parish Church and via PayPal http://www.woolpackstudios.co.uk

We hope to see you there! 🙂

Singing through Spring and into Summer 2016

15 May

Hello lovely singers!

It’s a lovely time of year and we have all ready started a new season of songs to get our spirits lifted on a Thursday evening! There is nothing quite like singing together in a group of people and when we start to hear a piece come together with harmonies and dynamics, it is such a great sound! I also enjoy our post-choir drink (usually at The Horse and Farrier), where we get to chat and hang out together. New singers (and those who maybe haven’t been in a while!) are always welcome at The Woolpack Studios on a Thursday – we hope to see you soon.

For those of you interested in performing – we have an end of term concert planned for FRIDAY 15th JULY 2016 at Otley Parish Church. It will be a celebration of Leeds choirs and I am extremely happy to be singing on the same bill as Sally’s Army, Ilkley Moornotes and Good In Parts. We will be raising money for the Joanna Project so it will be an evening not to be missed. WATCH THIS SPACE!

*for separate parts – please see the HAVE A LISTEN! page*

ROYALS – Lorde

10 Apr

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to sing and those who came to support us when we sang at The Horse and Farrier on March 30th.

We had a fantastic night and sounded amazing – all that hard work practising had really paid off. We really do get better and better every time!

Special thanks to SANDRA who helped coordinate the raffle. To those of you who donated raffle prizes – we really can’t thank you enough! The raffle raised an incredible £196, which we have spent on a much needed electric guitar and amp for the young people and community groups we run here at The Woolpack Studios.

I am busy working on new arrangements for Spring/Summer 2016 so see you on 21st April 7:30pm for some lovely singing together 🙂
