WELL DONE YOU LOVELY SINGERS!

20 Dec

hello everyone,

just wanted to post a quick reminder that OTLEY A CAPPELLA will be meeting tonight (20th  december) to have a little review of what we have done so far. see you at the woolpack from 7pm (there may even be a glass of wine in it for you!)

this past monday 17th december was our END OF TERM show at otley courthouse – and saw our first ever performances from the young people’s SING IT! choir and OTLEY A CAPPELLA. it was such an incredible evening and i was overwhelmed with all the support and energy our singers put in to the evening.

SING IT sang 2 adele songs they have been working on as well as the ol’ shakin stevens classic ‘merry christmas everyone’. the girls did so well and are really beginning to sing well as a group. next year we will be meeting at 10.15am every saturday so we look forward to meeting again in january.

OTLEY A CAPPELLA performed 2 songs with the OTLEY UKULELE ORCHESTRA which were ‘mele kalikimaka’ and ‘blue christmas’. it was a proud moment for me – knowing how much work both groups had put into the performance. the choir also sang ‘o come all ye faithful’ and ‘moving on up’, which sounded so powerful. i can’t wait to get working on more songs next year – building on our repertoire and hopefully more performances.

so keep 10th january 2013 free as this will be our first OTLEY A CAPPELLA session in the new year. the SING IT choir and all saturday sessions for young people will start back on 12th january from 9am.

if i don’t see you tonight….have a fun filled festive season!
